Stormy Weather
I loved the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stormy Weather, a fresh, pure, focused 2018 that has a sweet core of cassis and blueberry fruits as well as notes of iron, tobacco, and leafy herbs. It’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, has silky tannins, and solid structure. Unfortunately, there are a scant 424 cases produced, but it’s a gorgeous wine from winemaker Cameron Woodbridge that’s well worth seeking out.
Northern Gale
More dense and concentrated, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) offers a medium to full-bodied, round, supple style as well as a sweet notes of darker currants, blackberries, coffee, and earthy, herbal nuances. It’s balanced and has terrific purity of fruit as well as a great finish. It’s beautifully done and ideal for drinking over the coming decade.

Wandering Star
Produced from 100% Cabernet Franc, coming from Oakville, the 2016 Cabernet Franc Wandering Star spent 30 months in French oak barrels, 80% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it gives up a pretty floral perfume of red roses and lavender over a core of rasp-berry pie, wild blueberries and Morello cherries with hints of pencil shavings and forest floor. The full-bodied palate delivers taut, muscular red and blue fruit preserves with a firm, grainy texture and a lively backbone, finishing long with impressive elegance and sophistication.
